Have you ever climbed up a cherry tree that is in full blossom and sat there looking out at the world through a window of petals? Cherry blossoms are one of those things that make me smile in spite of myself.
I am someone who loves my time outdoors. I am also a playful, creative person and I deeply believe each of us has a unique gift to share with the world. At this junction in global history the world needs women to find their voices and actively take part in shaping our future.
Although I am passionate about my work with Baby Steps Life Coaching, my most important job is being Mommy to my two sons, Liam and Tristan. As a mother myself I know how hard it can be for mothers with young children to find a good balance between work and family life.
In my earlier career as a teacher, I found my true talent lay in one-on-one guidance, and I thrived on helping parents, children with disabilities and gifted students over come obstacles. My decision to become a life coach comes from a deep desire to make a difference in other people’s lives.
I have completed 110 hours of coaching training through The Coaches Training Institute of San Rafael, California, which is one of the two major coaching training organizations in North America. In 2006, I decided to start my own coaching practice and I am currently working on advanced training and certification. I also have a masters in Education from Simon Fraser University.
When not pondering the inner workings of the human mind, I enjoy helping my sons build forts under our dining room table and look for bugs down on the Richmond dyke trails, near our home. I enjoy experimenting in culinary arts (aka how fast can I throw a soup from those wilting vegetables in the back of the fridge and will the muffins notice that my son just tossed in an extra handful of baking soda). I also run, swim and have been know to mountain bike and kayak as ways to keep my sanity. Other activities that refill my sense of joy include writing, singing, traveling and reading in bubble baths.
